About

Farshid Ashouri

I build and run large-scale data and platform systems. Most of what I write here comes out of that work: distributed systems that have to stay correct under load, workflow orchestration, PostgreSQL, and the small operational lessons that only show up in production.

What I work on

  • Data architecture — resilient, observable pipelines, and the storage formats underneath them.
  • Platform engineering — distributed systems that other teams can self-serve without paging me.
  • Durable execution — workflow engines, idempotency, and what it actually takes to survive a restart mid-transaction.
  • Financial services — where correctness and auditability are not negotiable.

Elsewhere

I run RODMENA, a London software company building durable, mission-critical platforms — including the Highway workflow engine. Code lives on GitHub.
